Process test. I tend to do things non-destructively to allow for art direction without hassle. All assets here are individual smart objects with a host of filters applied to align them stylistically. Shadows sit on top as one layer of flat color, with layer styles applied to fill in bloom, ambient occlusion, and color bleed. The idea is that any object can be replaced with little to no repainting, allowing for entire theme changes on a whim. I've been doing characters that way for years, but I hadn't properly updated my environment process to apply those findings. Worked like a charm tho!
