Some early, early concept art for the Final Fantasy mobile game. Details for those interested:
01: Loose, freehand isometric sketches for the HQ.
02: Experimentation on how to get more detail and interest without impacting performance. On the right is a texture which when placed in engine perspective (the left image) aligns to fake some 3D architectural elements. Then snow is added via decal for cheap world building.
03: Same concept as 02, with a massively more complex shape. Fundamental system worked, so pushed it further.
The game ended up being a simple reskin, so the texture ideas were scrapped. Bummer!
