Cancelled VR Mech Battle Game - Pitch Dev - 2015

Backing up my old laptop and finding a bunch of projects I totally forgot about. 2015, maybe?

This is early concept/gameplay stuff for a demo pitched to Sandbox VR. Fun project, as we eventually got to hit up their beta version... which was a warehouse in remote San Ramon that had been converted into a massive VR environment to play out a Blade Runner style Noir story. It was all very "4D" and they would hit you with sounds, smells, wind, mist, etc as you went through. Even though you're entirely in VR with a PC backpack, you have to interact with doors, walk a plank which feels like it's 4 stories up, unlock a drawer to get your gun, etc.

They encouraged me to make very dark environments because they didn't have the time, manpower, or computing power to fill out a bright environment with a lot of detail 😅
